ORA, the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot, is a not-for-profit organization which assists disputing couples in resolving their differences and effectuating a timely Jewish divorce in accordance with the highest standards of Jewish law. ORA facilitates open communication between husbands and wives to arrive at quick and amicable resolutions to contested divorces.

In its first five years, ORA assisted in the resolution of over 80 cases. At any given time there are approximately 60 open cases, and provides all of its services completely free of charge. ORA operates under the guidance of Rabbi Hershel Schachter, rosh yeshiva of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), and in cooperation with an extensive team of attorneys, rabbis, mental health professionals, and community volunteers.
